€300 Million Investment from Turkish Airlines: Air Europa Partnership Formalised
Turkish Airlines (THY) has taken another significant step to strengthen its position in the global aviation industry. According to the special disclosure dated 07.08.2025, the binding offer submitted by THY to acquire minority shares in Spain-based Air Europa has been accepted by the airline.
In the company’s statement, it was noted:
“The binding offer submitted by our partnership has been accepted by Air Europa, and the process has now moved to the preparation of transaction documentation and the initiation of official closing procedures.”
New Markets and a Stronger Flight Network
It was stated that most of the €300 million investment will take the form of a capital increase, while the final minority shareholding ratio will be determined upon completion of the technical and financial arrangements at the closing stage.
With this strategic move, Turkish Airlines will:

Expand passenger and cargo transport networks between Türkiye and Spain,

Facilitate greater inflows of tourists from Latin America to Türkiye,

Contribute additional value to the Turkish economy through tourism and logistics.
Process to Be Completed Within 6 to 12 Months
Following the approval of official procedures by the relevant regulatory authorities, the transaction is expected to be completed within 6 to 12 months.
Turkish Airlines also shared a short presentation introducing Air Europa to investors. It further stated that any new developments which may affect investment decisions will be disclosed transparently.
