Star Alliance Celebrates 10th Anniversary at Heathrow Terminal 2

Star Alliance is celebrating its 10th anniversary at Terminal 2 of London Heathrow Airport, also known as the Queen’s Terminal. Serving over 15 million passengers annually, this terminal represents approximately 20% of the airport’s total seating capacity.

Appreciation from Star Alliance CEO

Star Alliance CEO Theo Panagiotoulias expressed his gratitude, stating, “Heathrow is a vital hub for our member airlines. With our collective offerings at this shared terminal, we take pride in delivering seamless experiences to thousands of passengers every day. On behalf of our member airlines, I extend my thanks to Heathrow for their decade-long support, enabling us to provide superior experiences to travelers daily and over the years.”

The “Move Under One Roof” Strategy

In 2014, Star Alliance launched the strategic initiative “Move Under One Roof,” bringing member airlines together in a single location to create a true alliance hub. This initiative significantly simplifies airport operations and enhances the passenger experience by facilitating easy connections between Star Alliance member airlines.

Exceptional Service at Heathrow

Heathrow’s Chief Customer Officer, Ross Baker, commented, “We are delighted to celebrate ten years of providing excellent service to passengers traveling through Terminal 2, which was previously named ‘World’s Best Terminal’ by Skytrax at the World Sky Awards. In collaboration with our partner airlines, including Star Alliance and its member airlines, nearly 73 million passengers have passed through Terminal 2, enjoying our premier retail and food and beverage options. This milestone allows us to reflect on a decade of achievements while looking forward to creating an exceptional airport for the next decade.”
