Of the 143 Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Russia’s Oryol, Bryansk, and Shatalovo regions, 95 were neutralized by Ukraine’s air defense systems.
Ukraine’s Successful Defense
According to Ukraine’s statement, the attacks carried out during the night were met with a large-scale air defense operation involving the Ukrainian Air Force, Air Defense Forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire brigade units. The attacks caused damage in the Kyiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions, while 46 fake UAVs disappeared from radar screens and caused no harm.
Ukraine’s Strong Air Defense Capacity
Thanks to successful air defense operations carried out, particularly over the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions, Ukraine downed a total of 95 enemy UAVs. With this successful intervention, Ukraine achieved a major victory against Russia’s UAV attack.
