Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced that IRADE (Interactive Radar Analysis and Data Display), the domestically developed air traffic monitoring software by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), has been deployed at Istanbul Airport and Muğla Dalaman Airport. He also noted that installation efforts are ongoing at Trabzon, Antalya, Muğla Milas-Bodrum, and İzmir Adnan Menderes airports.

IRADE Enhances Airport Security
Minister Uraloğlu recalled that the IRADE software was initially introduced at Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Çukurova Airport, emphasising that the project has been developed in compliance with international standards. Equipped with next-generation technologies, the software integrates critical data such as real-time radar imaging, flight plan information, NOTAM tracking, and meteorological updates into a single platform.
Highlighting the ongoing installations at Trabzon, Antalya, Muğla Milas-Bodrum, and İzmir Adnan Menderes airports, Uraloğlu stated, “We aim to complete all installations in the first half of 2025.”

A Revolution in Air Traffic Management
Minister Uraloğlu stressed that IRADE plays a crucial role for air traffic controllers, providing a secure solution that adheres to international standards. He explained that the system consolidates real-time radar imaging, AWOS, ATIS, METAR meteorological data, flight plans, and NOTAM information within a single interface. “This software significantly enhances operational efficiency and simplifies air traffic management for users,” he said.

Full Integration and High Efficiency
By presenting essential air traffic control and management data in a simplified interface, IRADE reduces the workload of air traffic controllers. Information from various sources, including the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS), AFTN and NOTAM data, meteorological radar, and satellite feeds, can be accessed effortlessly on a single screen.
Minister Uraloğlu added, “IRADE reduces our reliance on foreign systems in critical aviation infrastructure while offering high efficiency and flexible usability. With full integration into the ever-growing aviation sector, it represents a significant step towards the future.”
