İGA Academy, the training center of İGA Istanbul Airport, has been awarded the “Platinum / Center of Excellence” accreditation by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Achieving the highest level of membership within the TRAINAIR PLUS Program, İGA Academy has become the first and only institution in Turkey and its region to receive this prestigious title.
Global Success in Aviation Training
The TRAINAIR PLUS Program (TPP) of ICAO, operating under the United Nations, aims to standardize aviation training and support safe and sustainable air transport. In this comprehensive evaluation process, which assesses 45 different criteria, İGA Academy has achieved the most prestigious title thanks to its value-added projects and its vision of training expert personnel.
Ceremony Held in Abu Dhabi
The award, which has brought İGA Academy global recognition, was presented on February 12, 2025, at the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium 2025 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Attending the ceremony, IST Bilişim General Manager Reha Çetin and İGA Istanbul Airport Senior Manager of Human Resources, Culture, and Academy, Tunç Cavcav, received the award from ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano and ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar Gómez.
