Turkish Airlines (THY) Communications Director Yahya Üstün stated that a technical malfunction warning related to the right engine was received after take-off on the Airbus A330 aircraft operating the TK727 Kathmandu–Istanbul flight. In order to carry out the necessary checks, the aircraft was diverted to Kolkata Airport in India and landed safely.
New Flight Planning Arranged for Passengers
Emphasising that the aircraft landed safely at Kolkata Airport, THY Communications Director Yahya Üstün stated that new flight planning was arranged to ensure passengers could continue their journeys without inconvenience.
Üstün noted that Turkish Airlines always prioritises flight safety at the highest level and that technical inspections are being carried out meticulously.
Flight Safety Procedures Activated
Following the technical warning received on the Airbus A330 aircraft, it was stated that actions were taken in accordance with international aviation regulations and Turkish Airlines procedures, and that the aircraft was diverted in a controlled manner to ensure a safe landing.
