An Inspiring Design by the Tattoo Artist of Lady Gaga and Kurt Cobain

Henk Schiffmacher, the iconic artist known for tattooing global stars such as Lady Gaga and Kurt Cobain, drew inspiration from maritime symbols for this special Corendon project. He named the design “Sweet Louise” after his wife Louise.

“This aircraft is a tribute to the passion for travel and the discoveries life has to offer. Every tattoo tells a story; this design is shaped by my journeys, the people I’ve met, and the memories I’ve made.”
Henk Schiffmacher

Turning a Dream into Reality

The idea for the tattooed aircraft emerged from a heartfelt conversation between Corendon Dutch Airlines CEO Günay Uslu and Schiffmacher. This extraordinary concept, which merges art and aviation, has brought a long-envisioned dream to life.

“We wanted to do something bold to mark our 20th anniversary. This project has become a symbol of Corendon’s free-spirited and adventurous identity.”

An Artistic Journey in the Skies Begins

Introduced at Schiphol-East Airport, “Sweet Louise” will soon begin operating on Corendon’s most popular holiday routes. This unique tattoo-covered aircraft offers passengers not just a mode of transport, but a one-of-a-kind flying experience.

The tattoo design on the fuselage was executed with great precision from both an aesthetic and engineering standpoint. Special scaling techniques were used to apply the artwork to the aircraft’s surface, ensuring visual harmony and continuity.

An Inspirational Move for the Industry by Corendon

With its creative brand vision and distinctive service approach, Corendon Airlines has made a lasting mark on both aviation and art history with “Sweet Louise”. The aircraft ascends not just as a means of transport, but as a cultural statement and artistic expression.
