An important announcement has been made regarding flights operated by Turkish Airlines (THY) from Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. Due to modernization efforts at the airport’s passport control points, passengers may face long wait times.
Trial Period to Continue Until April 30
Airport officials have stated that as part of the modernization efforts, the Rosgranstroy institution, affiliated with the Russian State Border Administration (FGKU), is conducting a trial run of the new passport control system called “Mir” until April 30, 2025.
The announcement emphasized that, since the new system is still in its testing phase, wait times at passport control points may be prolonged, and passengers may temporarily experience some difficulties.
THY Passengers Advised to Arrive at the Airport 3 Hours in Advance
Vnukovo Airport management has advised international travelers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flights due to expected congestion. Passengers flying with THY from this airport should be cautious to avoid delays in the check-in and passport control processes.
It was also noted that airline companies and airport authorities are closely monitoring developments to minimize any inconvenience to passengers during this period.
