Pegasus Airlines has announced that passengers who purchased tickets before 30 October 2025 will be entitled to change, cancel, or open their tickets free of charge following Montenegro’s decision to impose visa requirements on Turkish citizens.
After Montenegro’s decision to introduce a visa requirement for Turkish citizens entering the country, Pegasus Airlines issued an important announcement. The airline stated that passengers who purchased tickets to Montenegro before 30 October 2025 could change, cancel, or open their tickets free of charge.
Montenegro Imposes Visa Requirement for Turkish Citizens
Following recent developments in the country, the Montenegrin government has decided to implement a visa requirement for Turkish citizens wishing to enter Montenegro. Under the new regulation, holders of ordinary (maroon) passports will no longer be able to enter Montenegro without a visa as of 30 October 2025.
However, holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports will continue to be exempt from visas for stays not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period.
Convenience for Passengers from Pegasus
Pegasus Airlines announced via its social media account that it would provide convenience for its passengers. The statement read as follows:
“As of 30 October 2025, visa-free travel to Montenegro for Turkish citizens holding ordinary (maroon) passports has been temporarily suspended.
Holders of Diplomatic, Service, and Special Passports will continue to be exempt from visa requirements.
Guests who purchased tickets for our Montenegro flights before 30 October 2025 may change, open, or cancel their tickets free of charge.”
The announcement also stated that passengers holding valid Schengen, US, UK, or Canadian visas would still be able to enter Montenegro without obtaining a separate visa.
Where to Apply for a Visa
Turkish citizens holding ordinary (maroon) passports who wish to travel to Montenegro can apply for a visa through the Embassy of Montenegro in Ankara or the Consulate General in Istanbul.
According to the new regulation, passengers who hold a passport or residence card valid for at least three months, or those possessing a valid multiple-entry visa from certain countries, may travel to Montenegro without a visa for up to 30 days.
