The US Navy has announced that an FA-18E Super Hornet fighter jet lost control and plunged into the Red Sea while being moved onto an aircraft carrier. The equipment used to tow the jet was also dragged into the water along with the aircraft. Navy officials reported that there were no personnel casualties in the incident.
Personnel Escaped by Seconds
According to the statement, the personnel responsible for moving the jet into the hangar managed to reach a safe area just seconds before the crash. Thus, a major catastrophe was narrowly averted.
Incident Occurred on the Harry S. Truman Aircraft Carrier
It was reported that the accident took place while the USS Harry S. Truman, an aircraft carrier belonging to the US Navy, was sailing in the Red Sea. The Truman Strike Group consists of the flagship USS Harry S. Truman, nine squadrons under Carrier Air Wing One, three guided-missile destroyers from Destroyer Squadron 28, and the Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG 64).

Navy officials have announced that a detailed investigation has been launched regarding the incident. A comprehensive technical examination will be conducted to determine the cause and responsibility for the crash.
