A military helicopter from the Army Aviation School crashed near a gas station during a training flight in Keçiborlu district of Isparta. All six military personnel aboard the UH-1 helicopter were martyred.

Firefighters, gendarmerie, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident. Initial reports indicated that five personnel had been martyred, and one was critically injured and taken to the hospital. However, the Ministry of National Defense (MoND) later updated the statement, announcing that the injured soldier also succumbed to his injuries.

Statement from the Ministry of National Defense:

The MoND provided the following statement regarding the accident:

“A UH-1 type helicopter conducting a training flight in Isparta has crashed. Five of our personnel have been martyred, and one was critically injured and promptly transported to the hospital. We extend our condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Turkish Armed Forces and wish a speedy recovery to our injured personnel.”

The ministry later updated its statement, confirming that the critically injured soldier had also been martyred.
