The United States has approved the sale of new military aircraft to Lebanon and Norway. The primary contractor for the sale will be Sierra Nevada Corporation.
The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has approved the sale of A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft and related equipment to Lebanon. According to a statement by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the total value of the sale is estimated at approximately $100 million.
The deal includes aircraft, training, maintenance, and support systems. If finalized, Sierra Nevada Corporation, based in Nevada, will be the main contractor for the sale.
HH-60W Helicopter Sale Approved for Norway
DSCA also announced approval for the sale of HH-60W Pave Hawk search-and-rescue helicopters and related equipment to Norway. The contractor for this sale will be Connecticut-based Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.
Both sales will become final following approval by the U.S. Congress. DSCA emphasized that these sales aim to enhance the defense capabilities of allied nations and are in line with U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.
