One of Turkey’s significant defense industry projects, the domestic long-range ballistic missile Typhoon, successfully completed its third test launch. Fired from Rize-Artvin Airport, the missile hit its planned target and completed the test process without issues.
Typhoon Missile Tested for the 3rd Time
Developed in collaboration with the Presidency of Defense Industries and Roketsan, the Typhoon Ballistic Missile System once again proved its power with today’s successful test launch. Extensive security measures were taken in and around the airport during the launch from Rize-Artvin Airport.
Although there was no information on the missile’s distance during the launch, it was announced that the test process was successfully completed.
Technical Features of the Typhoon
Seen as an important step in the defense industry, the Typhoon is categorized as a ballistic missile. While specific information on its range has not been disclosed, missiles are generally classified as follows:
- Missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers: Tactical Ballistic Missile (TBM)
- Missiles with a range of 300-1000 kilometers: Short-Range Ballistic Missile (SRBM)
