An American Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX (registration number: N328TC) operating flight AA-909 from Miami to Saint Vincent experienced a serious incident during landing on runway 04 at Saint Vincent. Both tyres on the left main landing gear burst.

Following the tyre blowouts, smoke started to rise from the landing gear. The aircraft came to a halt on the runway and remained stationary. Emergency teams responded swiftly. Passengers were safely evacuated onto the runway using mobile stairs.

As a result of the incident, Saint Vincent Airport remained closed for approximately 5.5 hours. The aircraft remains grounded at the airport 24 hours after the landing.
