Two Plane Crashes in Two Countries on the Same Day: 3 Dead

Two people lost their lives in a plane crash that occurred on the morning of 13 April in the city of Salzgitter, in the Lower Saxony region of Germany. A small aircraft crashed onto the grounds of the Salzgitter AG steelworks, striking between two workshops and subsequently catching fire.

According to information reported by Bild newspaper, the crash was reported to the fire brigade at 9:45 a.m. local time (10:45 a.m. Moscow time). Shortly before the accident, the two-seater aircraft had taken off from Salzgitter-Dreutte airfield.

Initial findings indicate that both pilots on board were killed. The cause of the crash has not yet been disclosed.

Meanwhile, on the same day, the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that a light aircraft carrying six people had crashed in the town of Copake, New York. Reuters news agency reported that at least one person was killed in the accident.
