Air connections to Turkey, one of Europe’s leading holiday destinations, continue to expand. SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has launched two new direct flights from Glasgow Airport to Turkey for the summer season.

SunExpress operated its inaugural flight to Antalya on Friday, April 5, followed by its first flight to Dalaman on Saturday, April 6. With these new routes, Scottish travelers will have easy access to Turkey with a total of six direct weekly flights four to Antalya and two to Dalaman.

All flights will be operated with comfortable and modern Boeing 737 aircraft.

“Turkey is an essential destination for Scottish holidaymakers”

Mark Beveridge, Managing Director of Glasgow Airport, emphasized Turkey’s long-standing popularity among Scots and stated:

“We are delighted to welcome SunExpress as our newest airline partner at Glasgow Airport. With six weekly flights to two major holiday destinations like Antalya and Dalaman, we’re offering our passengers more choice and flexibility.”

“These destinations stand out with their stunning beaches, rich historical and cultural heritage, and a variety of leisure activities including golf. Strengthening this connection with SunExpress reflects the high demand for direct flights to Turkey.”

Round-trip tickets for the new routes are on sale starting from £199.99 per person.

SunExpress: A strong bridge between Turkey and Europe

Tobias Bracht, SunExpress Sales Manager, noted that the new flights would allow Scottish travelers to explore Turkey more closely:

“With flights to both Antalya and Dalaman, we are doubling down on our commitment to Glasgow. This expansion marks a significant milestone in our Scotland operations and reinforces our commitment to offering high-quality, affordable travel experiences to our passengers.”

“With these new flights, Scottish travelers will more easily discover Turkey’s unique turquoise coasts, historical and cultural heritage, local cuisine, and nature-filled activities.”

As of today, SunExpress operates 237 flights to 92 destinations across 35 countries. It holds a leading position particularly between the Germany-Austria-Switzerland region and the Turkish Riviera and Anatolia.
