At IDEF 2025, TUSAŞ signed a production contract for 57 GÖKBEY helicopters. Agreements for 48 KAAN fighter jets with Indonesia and a memorandum of understanding with South Africa were also announced at the fair.

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) signed significant production and export agreements during the IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair. Taking firm steps towards becoming a global aviation player with its domestically developed air platforms, TUSAŞ stood out as one of the leading participants at the fair with its remarkable projects both at home and abroad.

Production Contract Signed for 57 GÖKBEY Helicopters

TUSAŞ signed a strategic production contract with the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) for 57 T625 GÖKBEY General Purpose Helicopters. Entirely developed with national resources, the GÖKBEY helicopters will be powered by the indigenous TEI-TS1400 engine and are scheduled for delivery starting in 2028.

New Era in the KAAN Project with Indonesia

TUSAŞ signed a critical agreement with Indonesia’s leading aerospace companies, PT Republik Aero Dirgantara and PT Dirgantara Indonesia, covering the procurement of 48 KAAN fighter jets. The agreement includes not only the delivery of the aircraft but also cooperation in production, engineering support, and technology transfer processes.

High-Level Government Visits and Presentations

During IDEF 2025, the TUSAŞ stand attracted significant interest from state officials. Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, and Air Force Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu visited the TUSAŞ booth.

The delegations received detailed technical presentations on next-generation air platforms and aviation-transport solutions. The systems contributing to Turkey’s defence and transport vision highlighted the advanced level of domestic engineering.

Africa Expansion: Memorandum of Understanding with South Africa

TUSAŞ signed a memorandum of understanding with Pamodzi Group to address the needs of the South African Armed Forces. This agreement marks a strategic step toward the export of high-tech systems to Africa, with South Africa being the primary target market.
