TUSAŞ General Manager Temel Kotil shared important announcements regarding the national combat aircraft KAAN. In his message where he disclosed short-term goals for the future, Kotil stated, “We will deliver 20 KAAN aircraft by the year 2028. We will deliver many more between 2030 and 2033, and the Turkish fleet will consist of hundreds of KAANs.”
Emphasizing the necessity for the national combat aircraft KAAN to be 100% domestically produced for the security of our country, Kotil stated, “We also produce the engine; we are obliged to. Hopefully, by 2028-2029, we will fly KAAN with our own engine. In such a critical technology, we cannot be dependent on any other country.”
Providing information about the technical specifications of KAAN, Kotil said, “This aircraft is better than the F-35. The F-35 carries 6 tons; this one carries 10 tons of ammunition. It has two engines compared to the F-35’s single engine. Two engines mean more energy and radars that illuminate farther distances.
