Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced the latest figures regarding the increase in the number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and UAV pilots in Türkiye.
Minister Uraloğlu stated, “As of the end of September 2025, the number of UAVs in Türkiye reached 88,138, marking an 11.86% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of UAV pilots rose by 4.19%, reaching 1,629,631.”
Uraloğlu noted that the registration system established under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) “UAV Systems Directive” has greatly facilitated permission, flight, and registration processes, adding that around 9,000 new UAVs are integrated into the system each year.
Highlighting the growing diversity of UAV applications, Minister Uraloğlu emphasised that these vehicles are now widely used in sectors such as agricultural spraying, photography, cinema, mapping, traffic control, security, cargo, and healthcare.
