Commander Kömür: Meeting Young People at TEKNOFEST in Istanbul Was an Honour
The Turkish Stars dazzled spectators with their aerial display over Istanbul as part of TEKNOFEST 2023. Commander Lieutenant Colonel Kürşat Kömür and Team Leader Lieutenant Colonel Hasan Kocabaş delivered inspiring messages to young audiences.
Organised under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), with Anadolu Agency as its Global Communication Partner, TEKNOFEST — the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival — continues to welcome visitors at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. One of the festival’s most striking moments was the breathtaking show by the Turkish Stars.
Kömür: “Meeting Young People Was a Great Excitement”
Turkish Stars Squadron Commander Lieutenant Colonel Kürşat Kömür shared his thoughts on the TEKNOFEST flight:
“We were very happy to meet aviation enthusiasts and young people whose eyes are on the skies at TEKNOFEST in Istanbul. It was a truly great thrill for us as well.”
Kömür underlined that the Turkish Stars Aerobatic Team proudly carries the responsibility of representing the Turkish nation, the Turkish Armed Forces, and the Air Force Command, and emphasised that they will continue their work in this direction.
Kocabaş: “Displays with Domestic Aircraft Coming Soon”
Turkish Stars Team Leader Lieutenant Colonel Hasan Kocabaş highlighted the great interest at TEKNOFEST:
“There was a tremendous crowd and huge demand. Flying over Istanbul was an extra pleasure for us. Performing manoeuvres over the historic peninsula and putting on a show in the skies of Istanbul was a great joy.”
Kocabaş also shared his vision for the future, giving this message to young people:
“When watching our displays, we want young people to imagine themselves inside the cockpits. Because in the future, they will be the ones sitting there. Very soon, the Turkish Stars will continue their shows with HÜRJET and other domestic, national aircraft. Our youth will take this pride even further with our own planes.”
