Turkish Airlines Announces 2025–2026 Winter Schedule Changes: New Routes, Suspended Services, and Frequency Adjustments

Turkish Airlines (THY) is making significant adjustments to its intercontinental flight network as part of its 2025–2026 winter schedule. Effective from 26 October 2025 to 29 March 2026, the new season will see the temporary suspension of some routes and a reshuffling of flight frequencies across many destinations.

Temporarily Suspended Routes

According to THY’s updated flight planning, services to Aktau, Fergana, and Turkistan will be temporarily suspended. In addition, the Cebu route—which was already suspended—will remain inactive throughout the winter schedule.

Reduced Frequencies in North America

There will be notable reductions in flight frequencies to North America during the winter period:

  • Weekly flights to New York JFK will be reduced from 21 to 17.

  • Cities like Atlanta, Denver, and San Francisco will also see similar cuts.

  • In some routes, such as Seattle, both flight frequency reductions and aircraft type changes are being implemented.

Expansion in Asia and the Far East

Meanwhile, routes in the Far East and Southeast Asia are seeing growth:

  • A new route between Bangkok and Phnom Penh is being introduced.

  • Flight frequencies to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phuket will increase.

  • Aircraft type upgrades are planned for services to Taipei and Osaka.

Adjustments in Latin America and Africa

  • Flights on the Mexico City–Cancun route will decrease from 11 to 9 per week.

  • The São Paulo–Santiago service will increase from 4 to 6 weekly flights.

  • The previously announced Mombasa (Kenya) route will launch on 26 October 2025 with three weekly frequencies.

Focus on Efficiency and Flexibility in Passenger Experience

These changes are driven by seasonal demand shifts, operational efficiency goals, and fleet optimisation strategies. Turkish Airlines aims to offer passengers a more efficient, well-planned, and sustainable travel experience.
