The First Phase of the New Terminal One to Open in 2026
As part of the modernization of JFK Airport, construction of the New Terminal One began in 2022. The first phase of this new terminal is set to open in 2026, aiming to provide passengers with a more modern and technologically advanced travel experience.
19 Weekly Flights and a 11,000-Square-Meter New Lounge by Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines will continue to operate 19 weekly flights from Istanbul Airport to JFK while introducing a brand-new, 11,000-square-meter lounge specifically designed for passengers at the New Terminal One.
This new lounge will be twice the size of the current lounge at Terminal 1 and will offer direct boarding access, enhancing comfort for business class and frequent flyer passengers.
Growth Ambitions in the U.S. Market
Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board Ahmet Bolat stated that this move reflects THY’s growth strategy in the U.S. market. Bolat commented, “By bringing Turkish Airlines’ world-class service to New Terminal One, we will offer our passengers a state-of-the-art lounge, significantly enhancing their travel experience.”
