Turkish Airlines (THY) is once again opening its doors to young people who want to turn their passion for aviation into a career. THY has launched the application period for the new term of its Take-Off Cadet program, which trains the pilots of the future. Young candidates born between 1995 and 2004, who have a university degree and English proficiency, have the chance to steer their careers in the sky through this special program.
A Path to the Cockpit for University Graduates
Our national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, connects talented university graduates to the cockpit through the Take-Off Cadet program. Candidates undergo an intensive theoretical and practical training lasting approximately 15 to 18 months, followed by type training lasting 3 to 6 months at flight academies operated in cooperation with THY’s domestic and international partners. Those who successfully complete the program earn the right to join the THY fleet as a Second Officer.
Who Can Apply?
Candidates applying to the Take-Off Cadet program must be born between 1 January 1995 and 31 December 2004. Applicants must be Turkish citizens or possess a blue card, have a height between 160 and 195 cm, and a body mass index (BMI) between 20 and 30. Additionally, candidates must not have exceeded 6 years and 1 month of total education duration.
English Proficiency Certificates Are Required
English language proficiency is crucial for the application process. Valid score certificates from TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE exams are required. Candidates who do not yet have these certificates can start the process by taking the online English test administered by THY. However, to proceed in the evaluation process, the official certificates must be uploaded to the system on time.
Comprehensive Evaluation Process
Candidates undergo a multi-stage selection process including document verification, online English test, psychometric assessments, competency tests, and face-to-face interviews. Those who successfully complete all stages then pass medical examinations and flight fitness assessments, earning the opportunity to join the Turkish Airlines family.

The application period for aspiring pilots ends on Friday, 11 July 2025, at 3:00 PM. Applications are accepted only online through THY’s official website. Candidates must obtain the required documents via the e-Government portal and upload them in PDF format to the application system.
