Turkish Airlines (THY) aims to train 500 pilots annually by increasing the capacity of its flight academy in Aydın. THY Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat announced that while 300 pilots are currently being trained each year, the capacity will soon be expanded to 500.
Bolat stated that university graduates can apply for pilot training with THY, adding, “Candidates who complete their training at the Aydın flight academy begin their careers as first officers in the THY and AJet fleets.” Emphasising that the rapid growth of the aviation sector has increased the demand for qualified professionals, Bolat noted that these investments will make a significant contribution to the country in terms of both employment and training quality.
Standing out with its modern training infrastructure and experienced instructors, THY’s Aydın flight academy is positioned as one of Turkey’s most prestigious pilot training centres. With the increased capacity, the goal is to both meet Turkey’s demand for pilots and establish an internationally recognised aviation training hub.
