Turkish Airlines (THY) is restarting its flights to Syria’s capital, Damascus! THY’s General Manager, Bilal Ekşi, announced that flights to Damascus will resume starting on January 23, 2025.
In a statement on his social media account, Ekşi shared the memorable lines of the late poet and thinker Sezai Karakoç and used the following words: “We are returning to Damascus. We will begin flights to Damascus with 3 weekly flights on Thursday, January 23. Best wishes.”

- First flight date: Thursday, January 23, 2025
- Aircraft type: Wide-body Airbus A330-203
- Departure time: 09:00 AM from Istanbul Airport
- Return time: 01:00 PM from Damascus Airport
Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
