Kayserispor’s plane, scheduled to travel to Istanbul for the match against Fenerbahçe in the 36th week of the Super League, was struck by lightning before departure from the away game.

Kayserispor was planning to use Turkish Airlines’ (THY) 15:15 flight from Erkilet Airport to depart for the away match against Fenerbahçe tomorrow. However, due to adverse weather conditions, the plane experienced a delay and was only able to take off at 17:00.

Shortly after takeoff, the plane was struck by lightning, prompting it to return to Erkilet Airport as a safety precaution.

Officials stated that there were no injuries or damages following the incident, and it was reported that Kayserispor would make a new travel plan for the match. The team’s players and coaching staff are continuing to work on alternative transportation methods to safely reach Istanbul for the match.
