Turkey’s flag carrier airline, Turkish Airlines (THY), has announced its financial results for 2024. According to the announcement, the company reported a consolidated net profit of 113.38 billion lira for the year. This marks a 30% decline compared to the 163.03 billion lira profit declared in 2023.
Despite the drop in net profit, Turkish Airlines’ sales revenue increased by 48%, reaching 745.4 billion lira, while gross profit rose by 20% to 142.9 billion lira. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) grew by 18%, amounting to 136.2 billion lira.
Net monetary position gains surged by 70%, climbing to 78 million lira, while shareholders’ equity increased by 10%, reaching 679.8 billion lira. The company’s net debt decreased by 2%, falling to 275.9 billion lira.
Turkish Airlines’ total assets rose by 3% to 1.4 trillion lira, with non-current assets increasing by 4% to 1.057 trillion lira and current assets rising by 1% to 341.9 billion lira.
