Turkish Airlines Launches Daily Direct Flights Between Seville and Istanbul

New Turkish Airlines Route Offers Easy Connections to 353 Destinations

Starting from 17 September, Turkish Airlines (THY) will introduce daily direct flights from Seville, Spain’s historic city, to Istanbul, offering travellers a new transport option. This move aims to boost tourism and trade potential between Turkey and the Andalusia region.

New Flight Route and Schedule

The new route will operate seven days a week, providing passengers with two different departure time options:

  • On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, flights will depart Seville at 11:45 and arrive in Istanbul at 17:15 the same day.

  • On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, flights will depart at 18:40 and arrive in Istanbul at 00:10 the following day.

This schedule is designed to meet diverse travel needs and itineraries.

Global Connectivity via Istanbul Airport

Thanks to Istanbul Airport’s extensive global network, the Seville–Istanbul route offers passengers access to over 353 destinations worldwide. With 64 destinations in Africa, 47 in Asia-Pacific, 37 in the Middle East, and 27 in the Americas, travellers can enjoy flexibility for both business and leisure trips.

Growth in Turkey–Andalusia Tourism

According to the Andalusian Regional Government, tourism demand from Turkey to Spain is rapidly increasing. In 2024, the number of visitors from Turkey rose by 77.3% to 604,676, generating a total spend of €844 million. More than 92,000 of these visitors chose Andalusia, making it the third most popular Spanish destination for Turkish tourists.

The new direct route forms part of the 2023–2025 Andalusia Air Connectivity Strategy, which aims to increase connections with the Middle East and Gulf region by 85% and reduce tourism seasonality. With Turkish Airlines already operating two daily flights on the Istanbul–Malaga route, the addition of Seville further strengthens Andalusia’s air network.
