What is the Take-Off Cadet Program?
The Take-Off Cadet Program, organized by Turkish Airlines, is a training program designed for recent graduates aspiring to build a career in aviation. Candidates become ready to begin their roles as Second Officer candidates after 15–18 months of theoretical and practical training. The program concludes with type training at flight academies both within Turkey and abroad in collaboration with Turkish Airlines and its partners.
Who Can Apply to the Take-Off Cadet Program?
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a Turkish citizen or hold a blue card.
- Be at least a bachelor’s degree graduate (formal or open education).
- Be born between January 1, 1995, and December 31, 2004.
- Have a height between 160 cm and 195 cm and a body mass index (BMI) between 20 and 30.
- Have completed military service or be able to postpone it for at least two years from the start date.
- Have no criminal record and no history of dismissal due to disciplinary reasons.
- English language proficiency: Hold valid scores from recognized international English exams (TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE) within the past two years.
English Language Requirements
Applicants must have achieved at least the following scores in one of these exams:
- TOEFL (IBT): 60 (Speaking: min. 18)
- IELTS (Academic or General): 6 (Speaking: min. 6)
- PTE (Academic): 46 (Speaking: min. 46)
Candidates unable to provide a language certificate at the time of application can take an online English test administered by Turkish Airlines.
Health Requirements
Candidates who successfully complete the application process must obtain a medical certificate of airworthiness from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation before starting employment. Additionally, they will undergo a medical examination in line with Turkish Airlines’ internal procedures.
Application Process and Evaluation Stages
Candidates will go through the following stages during the application process:
- Online English Test: Candidates without language certificates will take this test.
- Psychometric Tests: Applicants who pass the English test proceed to these tests.
- Competency Assessment: Candidates successful in the psychometric tests undergo skill and competency evaluations.
