The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, one of the world’s most prestigious corporate amateur golf tournaments, was held in Uganda for the second time. Hosted by Turkish Airlines, the event took place at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa near the capital Kampala, attracting participants from the business world and golf enthusiasts from across the country.
Ticket to the Antalya Final Goes to Kivumbi Martin
Kivumbi Martin emerged victorious in the Uganda leg of the tournament, securing his place in the grand final to be held in 2025 at Gloria Serenity Resort in Antalya. Along with qualification, Martin also won a return trip to Antalya with Turkish Airlines in business class.
Nice Janda claimed second place, while Dr Drey finished third. The lucky winner of the day, Jimmy Odongkara, won a Turkish Airlines flight ticket to any city in Turkey.
“Sport Promotes Friendship and Unity”
Ali Özdemir, Turkish Airlines Manager in Uganda, expressed satisfaction with the interest shown in the tournament and shared his belief that Martin would represent Uganda proudly at the grand final in Antalya. Özdemir also noted that participants would have the opportunity to experience Turkish Airlines’ world-renowned business class comfort during their travels.
Representing the Embassy of Turkey in Uganda, Gökçe Esma Ercıktı also attended the event and thanked Turkish Airlines for spearheading the organisation, stating: “Sport is a universal bond that strengthens unity and friendship among people.”

Set to be held in 83 countries with 130 qualifying tournaments, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2025 will once again bring together over 10,000 amateur golfers. The winners of each national qualifier will meet at the grand final in Turkey, gaining a chance to shine on the world stage.
