Turkish Airlines Flight Academy (TAFA), a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines’ flight training group, hosted the President of Turkey and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure along with their delegations this week. The visit highlighted the importance of aviation training and infrastructure investments in Turkey.

TAFA Chairman of the Board Abdulkerim Çay, General Manager İbrahim Zeki Akyurt, and Human Resources and Corporate Communications Director Muhammed Eşref Başyiğit welcomed the President and Minister. The delegation toured the academy’s state-of-the-art facilities and reviewed advancements in flight training firsthand.

Remarkable Growth Over the Past Five Years
The Turkish Airlines Flight Academy has experienced significant growth in the past five years, tripling its operational capacity. As of 2024, the academy has increased its annual flight training hours to 68,000, with plans to further expand this number in the coming years.

Increased Pilot Training Capacity
TAFA currently trains 281 pilots annually and aims to increase this number to 350 by 2026.
