Abdulkerim Çay, Deputy General Manager of Turkish Airlines (THY), attended the “Turkish Airlines Career Talk” event held at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) to share career and employment opportunities offered by THY.
Career and Job Opportunities
Abdulkerim Çay emphasized that Turkish Airlines is one of the world’s largest airlines, providing extensive employment opportunities for students from various academic backgrounds. Addressing aviation students, he highlighted that proficiency in English is a priority in recruitment processes. For pilot candidates, graduation from aviation schools is a mandatory requirement.
“We recruit personnel in many fields every year. As THY, we aim to provide a happy workplace and lead on a global scale. Working for a company that proudly carries the Turkish flag worldwide is an honor for all of us,” he said.
Gifts and Awards at the Event
At the end of the talk, six participants received THY aircraft models through a raffle. Additionally, ALKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan presented Abdulkerim Çay with olive oil produced from olives grown on ALKÜ campuses. In return, Çay expressed his gratitude with a THY aircraft model.
Notable Guests and Ceremonies
The event took place at the Gazipaşa and Kestel campuses and was attended by notable figures such as Gazipaşa District Governor Selami Korkutata, Gazipaşa Deputy Mayor Selçuk Özdemir, and various academic staff. Rector Deputies also presented Abdulkerim Çay with a map of Alanya by Piri Reis and the seal of Alaaddin Keykubat.
