Turkish Airlines Achieves High Scores in International Safety Inspections

Turkish Airlines (THY) has once again proven its success in flight safety. General Manager Bilal Ekşi shared important data with the public regarding SAFA inspections carried out under the framework of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC).

In a statement made via social media, THY General Manager Bilal Ekşi announced that Turkish Airlines aircraft were subjected to a total of 87 inspections abroad over the past 12 months, conducted at 58 airports in 35 countries.

Ekşi shared THY’s result with the following words:

“THY flies safely. Over the past 12 months, our aircraft were inspected 87 times by foreign civil aviation authorities at 58 airports in 35 countries. As a result, we achieved an impressive success with a SAFA score of 0.388. I congratulate our teams.”

What Is a SAFA Score?

SAFA (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) is an inspection programme conducted to assess the safety level of foreign air carriers operating in the European Union and ECAC member countries. In the scoring system, a score of 0 means “no findings” and indicates the highest level of safety. The 0.388 score achieved by THY represents a highly successful level according to global aviation standards.
