103 Weekly Flights from Turkish Airlines to Scandinavian Countries: A New Boost for Turkish Tourism
Turkish Airlines (THY) Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Ahmet Bolat, announced that there will be 103 weekly flights from Scandinavian countries to Türkiye. Speaking at the “Connect to Türkiye” event organised by Turkish Airlines in Sweden, Bolat stated that both Turkish Airlines and AJet will operate a total of 47 weekly flights from Stockholm and Gothenburg to Türkiye during the summer season.

400,000 Visitors from Sweden to Türkiye
Bolat emphasised that the number of promotional events organised to extend Türkiye’s tourism season across all 12 months and throughout the country has exceeded 25.
At the event, Bolat mentioned that they met with world pole vault record holder and Olympic champion Armand Duplantis, saying, “We introduced Duplantis to Türkiye’s cultural richness and traditional handicrafts.”
Highlighting that Sweden, with a GDP of 620 billion dollars and a per capita income of 60,000 dollars, is the largest economy in the Nordic region and sends approximately 400,000 tourists to Türkiye each year, Bolat underlined the country’s strategic importance for Turkish tourism.

Target for 2026: 103 Weekly Flights
Bolat stated that due to Sweden’s economic and cultural prominence, it also plays a key role in promoting Türkiye across Norway, Denmark, and Finland.
He announced that Turkish Airlines’ total number of flights to these countries will reach 103 per week by 2026, adding, “In 2024, 1.1 million tourists from Nordic countries, with a combined population of 26 million, visited Türkiye. The initial target is to increase this number to 2 million.”

“We Are Türkiye’s Cultural Ambassadors on Every Flight”
Turkish Airlines Chairman Ahmet Bolat concluded his remarks with the following words:
“As Türkiye’s national flag carrier, we see it as our duty to promote our country’s values, beauty, and richness. We act as cultural ambassadors in every destination we fly to, working to enhance our contribution to our country and make our nation proud.”
