Turkish Airlines (THY) and its subsidiary AJet have released their traffic results for January 2025. The announced figures indicate growth in several areas compared to 2024, while stability was maintained in some categories.
Here are the highlights of THY and AJet’s January 2025 performance:
8.2% Increase in Total Passenger Numbers
The total number of passengers carried by Turkish Airlines and AJet rose from 6.3 million in January 2024 to 6.8 million in January 2025, marking an 8.2% increase. This growth was driven by improvements in both domestic and international routes.
Momentum in International-to-International Transfer Passengers
The number of international-to-international transfer passengers grew from 2.6 million in January 2024 to 2.8 million in the same period of 2025, an 8.5% increase. This rise was enabled by the strengthening of international connections.
Increase in Passenger Load Factor
As of January 2025, the passenger load factor rose by 2.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year, reaching 82.4%. The international load factor stood at 82.3%, while the domestic load factor contributed to overall performance at 83.5%.
Available Seat Kilometer (ASK) Increased
A key indicator of airline growth, total Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) increased from 20 billion in January 2024 to 21.5 billion in January 2025, representing a 7.5% rise.
Cargo and Mail Transport Remained Steady
The total cargo and mail volume carried in January 2025 remained at the same level as in 2024, recorded at 149.7 thousand tons.
Strong Growth in Fleet Size
As of January 2025, the total number of aircraft in Turkish Airlines and AJet’s fleet reached 477, showing a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
