Turkey’s defense and aerospace sector achieved exports of 6 billion dollars in the January–September 2025 period, marking a 39% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure represents approximately 3% of the country’s total exports of 200.6 billion dollars.
In September alone, defense and aerospace exports rose 1.4% year-on-year, reaching 574 million dollars. Haluk Görgün, Head of the Defense Industry Presidency, evaluated this success as a global reflection of Turkish engineering, the domestic production ecosystem, and strategic vision.
Görgün stated that the platforms developed through Turkey’s industrialisation policies, engineering-focused production, and sustainability approach secure both the present and the future, adding, “This vision turns our defense and aerospace industry into a global player.”
Turkey’s defense and aerospace exports, which were only 248 million dollars in 2002, reached a record high of 7.15 billion dollars in 2024. During the same period, the number of defense projects increased roughly 17-fold, surpassing 1,100.
The automotive sector remained Turkey’s top exporting industry, with exports of 3.66 billion dollars in September and 30.2 billion dollars in the January–September period.
