Brazilian Minister of Defense Jose Mucio announced that negotiations are ongoing for the sale of Embraer KC-390 military transport aircraft with Turkey, Poland, and Finland.

In a statement made at the LAAD defense exhibition held in Rio de Janeiro, Mucio emphasized that production of the KC-390 would continue, highlighting that the negotiations were progressing positively.

Global Interest in the KC-390 is Growing

Developed by Embraer, one of Brazil’s leading aerospace companies, the KC-390 began its design and production process in 2009 with a $1.3 billion order from the Brazilian Air Force.

The military transport aircraft made its first flight in 2015 and received its official certification from Brazil’s aviation authority ANAC in October 2018.

Positive Progress in Negotiations

Defense Minister Mucio, following Sweden’s confirmation earlier this week of purchasing four KC-390s, stated, “Negotiations for the global expansion of the KC-390 in the international market are ongoing, and we are optimistic.”

Brazil is continuing discussions for the sale of the military transport aircraft to Turkey, Poland, and Finland.
