Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has made history in global aviation. Two prototype jet aircraft, still undergoing development and testing, performed a formation flight piloted by the Commander of the Turkish Air Force, General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, and the Commander of the Spanish Air Force, General Francisco Braco Carbo. This remarkable event marks a significant milestone in aviation history.
A First in Aviation History!
One of the most striking aspects of this historic flight was that the jets, yet to complete their certification process and enter mass production, were flown by two of the most experienced air force commanders in the world. This development not only showcases the success of Turkish engineering but also highlights the trust placed in the project’s technical team and test pilots.

Turkish Aviation Proves Its Strength on the Global Stage
In recent years, Turkey has emerged as a key player in global aviation through significant advancements in the defence industry. Domestically produced jet aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/UCAVs), and state-of-the-art defence systems continue to draw considerable international attention.
This historic formation flight conducted by TUSAŞ reaffirms Turkey’s ambitious stance in defence and aviation. The participation of both air force commanders in this flight with Turkish jets is regarded as a critical achievement in terms of international credibility.
