Asiana Airlines flight OZ708, scheduled to travel from the Philippines to Incheon, South Korea, was delayed by 15 hours and 20 minutes due to the pilot losing his passport.
The aircraft, which was supposed to depart from Clark International Airport at 1:35 AM local time, was delayed because the pilot was unable to complete immigration procedures. Despite thorough searches in the passenger cabin and at the airport, the passport could not be found.
To resolve the situation, Asiana Airlines dispatched a backup pilot from South Korea to operate the flight. During the delay, 135 passengers were provided with hotel accommodations and airport transportation.
In a statement, the airline said, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers.”
