In the city of Adazi, Latvia, a small aircraft carrying two people made an emergency landing on a highway due to technical issues. According to a statement from the Latvian Civil Aviation Agency, the single-engine Tecnam P2008 aircraft, registered to a pilot training institution in Adazi, made an emergency landing on the highway yesterday due to technical reasons.

Latvian police stated that the emergency landing was caused by technical problems in the wing section of the aircraft. While there were no reported fatalities or injuries in the incident, footage captured by bystanders showed the aircraft, coming from the direction of the capital, Riga, landing on the Tallinn Highway despite ongoing traffic.

It was reported that during the landing, the aircraft touched down in the direction of traffic flow but veered into the opposite lane after hitting a road sign with its left wing. Fortunately, there were no accidents following the landing of the aircraft.
