A tragic incident occurred at Konarak Airport in the city of Chabahar, southern Iran. Abolfazl Amiri, a technician, was pulled into the engine of a Varesh Airlines Boeing 737-500 aircraft and died.

Amiri was retrieving a tool near the aircraft when he was drawn into the engine. The plane had arrived from Tehran and the right engine was running for a test. All passengers had safely disembarked, and safety measures were in place around the engine at the time of the incident.

Iranian aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and the Boeing aircraft was grounded for repairs for a week.
