The Ajet plane carrying TRNC Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler and his delegation was unable to take off due to a technical malfunction, leaving them stranded at Ercan Airport. The aircraft had to return to the runway after two failed takeoff attempts due to the malfunction. Following efforts to resolve the issue, passengers were disembarked.

TRNC Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler, along with MPs Şifa Çolakoğlu, Yasemin Öztürk, and Parliament General Secretary Serap Fırat, were scheduled to depart from Ercan Airport for meetings in Ankara. However, when the system indicated that the emergency exit doors of the plane were open, both takeoff attempts were cancelled. Passengers experienced brief anxiety, and some discussions ensued.

After the flight was cancelled, the delegation and other passengers began waiting at Ercan Airport from 13:00. Due to the disruption, passengers who could not board the plane were stranded at the airport for a prolonged period.

Following the disruption, TRNC Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler and his delegation had to board a different plane to continue their journey to Ankara. Ajet resolved the technical issue and arranged an alternative flight to ensure the delegation’s travel was completed.
