TAV Airports Targets Concession Extension for Tbilisi Airport with $150 Million Investment

TAV Airports Holding has officially entered negotiations with the Government of Georgia to expand the capacity and extend the operation period of Tbilisi International Airport.

In a disclosure to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on July 1, 2025, TAV Airports Holding A.Ş. (BIST: TAVHL) announced that it has begun talks with the Georgian Government to extend the airport’s operating rights in exchange for planned new investments at Tbilisi International Airport.

$150 Million Investment Plan

TAV is planning an investment of approximately $150 million to upgrade key infrastructure at Tbilisi Airport, including the passenger terminal, apron, and parking facilities. The goal is to increase the airport’s passenger capacity, enhance service quality, and secure a strategic advantage in regional air traffic.

Operation Period to Be Extended at Least Until 2031

In return for this investment, TAV has proposed extending its current concession—set to expire in 2027—by at least four years, through 2031. The agreement is expected to deliver economic and operational benefits for both TAV and the Georgian Government.

Final Terms to Be Determined Through Negotiations

TAV noted that the final terms, including the investment amount and concession extension, will be clarified as a result of the ongoing formal negotiations with the Georgian Government.
