As the Turkish Airline Pilots’ Association (TALPA), we are deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the crash of Air India Flight 171, which occurred shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad International Airport on 12 June 2025 and came down in a residential area. We sincerely share the pain of the crew, passengers, and affected families.
Following this tragic event, as stated in the official IFALPA (International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations) release numbered 25PRL06, it is of utmost importance that the investigation into the accident be conducted in full compliance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 and be free from speculation.
As IFALPA also emphasised, unfounded claims that may arise in the media or on social media platforms should be avoided; the investigation must be carried out solely by the authorised accident investigation bodies. This approach is a prerequisite for developing effective and scientifically based solutions to enhance aviation safety.
As TALPA, we stand in solidarity with our global colleagues, especially the Air Line Pilots’ Association of India. As part of international cooperation, we are ready to provide any support that may be required during the investigation process.
Safety in aviation is always our top priority.
