T625 GÖKBEY Crosses the Sea for the First Time: Joins Gendarmerie Inventory, Reaches Overseas

Turkey’s first domestically produced multi-role helicopter, the T625 GÖKBEY, has successfully completed its first overseas flight. Developed by Turkish engineers, the helicopter reached the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as part of the TEKNOFEST events.

The T625 GÖKBEY, a general-purpose helicopter developed entirely with local resources by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), has marked a significant milestone in the history of Turkish defense and aviation. Delivered to the General Command of the Gendarmerie, GÖKBEY made its debut in TRNC airspace following its first successful overseas flight.

The flight was planned as part of TEKNOFEST, an event showcasing Turkey’s vision in technology and aviation.

A Message of Pride from TUSAŞ

TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu highlighted the significance of this historic flight in a statement on social media platform X:

“After being delivered to the General Command of the Gendarmerie, Turkey’s first national general-purpose helicopter T625 GÖKBEY successfully completed its first overseas flight and reached the TRNC as part of TEKNOFEST. Our national power will continue to build on our achievements in our Sky Homeland.”

GÖKBEY Plays an Active Role in Both Civilian and Military Missions

The T625 GÖKBEY showcases Turkey’s advanced engineering capabilities in the defense industry. Developed for use in both civilian and military missions, this domestically produced helicopter is capable of delivering high performance under challenging geographical conditions.
