Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) and the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Syria’s airports and air traffic management systems will be rebuilt in accordance with international standards.
Turkey continues to strengthen regional cooperation in the field of civil aviation. As part of the strategic Memorandum of Understanding signed between DHMİ and the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, a comprehensive technical support programme has been launched for the modernisation of airports and air traffic control systems in Syria.
Within the scope of the agreement, the aim is to bring Syrian airspace in line with international civil aviation standards. Structural improvements will be carried out particularly in key areas such as communication systems, airport operations, security, firefighting, and air traffic management.
