SWISS Boeing 777 Makes Emergency Landing in Dublin Due to Technical Issue!

Switzerland’s national airline, SWISS International Airlines (LX), was forced to divert flight LX65 from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Zurich Airport (ZRH) to Dublin Airport (DUB) due to a technical issue.

Incident Details

The flight, which took off from Miami at 01:39 AM local time on December 10, 2024, operated smoothly over the Atlantic Ocean for approximately seven hours. However, a technical issue was reported just a few hours before its scheduled landing in Zurich. The flight crew contacted Dublin Air Traffic Control (ATC) to request an emergency landing and safely landed at Dublin Airport at 09:25 local time.

The aircraft involved in the incident was a Boeing 777-300ER registered HB-JNF, an 8.4-year-old model equipped with GE90 engines. Following the incident, SWISS arranged for passengers to continue their journey to Zurich on another flight in the afternoon.

Safety in Airline Operations

Safety remains the top priority for airlines. Unexpected diversions like this are managed effectively through the professional coordination of flight crews and air traffic control units.
