A major security alarm was triggered at Istanbul Airport late last night due to a suspicious suitcase. The incident occurred around 11:15 PM at the main security gate of Istanbul Airport. After an unattended suitcase was found near the entrance, security measures were heightened at the airport, and vehicle access was temporarily closed for 20 minutes.

Police and Bomb Disposal Teams at the Scene

The unattended suitcase was deemed suspicious, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. A security perimeter was quickly established, and both entry and exit points of the airport were controlled. Authorities decided to neutralize the suitcase using a controlled explosion.
