It has been reported that 4 police officers and 38 private security guards on duty at Antalya Airport have been admitted to hospitals with suspected food poisoning. Airport official Suat Seyitoğlu stated that necessary samples have been taken and 11 of the affected personnel have been discharged.
Following complaints such as diarrhea, vomiting, and weakness among some staff during the night, health teams were dispatched to the area. A total of 42 individuals were taken to various hospitals in the city by 112 Emergency Health teams.
Suat Seyitoğlu, the Border Civil Administration Officer of Antalya Airport, mentioned that they have requested a team from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry to conduct an investigation into the food and stated that necessary samples have been taken.
Seyitoğlu also noted that the food distribution was handled by a company and stated, “There is food poisoning from chicken. Four police officers and 38 security guards who applied to the hospital had chicken for dinner. No one is in critical condition. We will take top-level precautions. It is not acceptable for us to accept such a thing, necessary legal actions will be taken.
