Strong Support from SunExpress to the Aviation Industry: Expansion of Pilot and Technician Training Programmes

SunExpress is significantly expanding its pilot and technician training programmes to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the aviation industry.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician Career Development and Support Programme, launched last year in collaboration with Eskişehir Technical University, has grown this year with the participation of two additional universities. Within the scope of the programme, the goal is to train 400 new aircraft maintenance technicians over the next five years.

Under the Multi-Pilot Licence (MPL) programme, initiated by SunExpress in 2018, 200 pilots have been trained to date. The airline plans to include more than 200 Turkish pilot candidates in the programme over the next five years.

In addition, the new flight training simulator currently being installed at SunExpress’s headquarters in Antalya will offer advanced practical training opportunities to pilot candidates with a training capacity of 500 hours per month. With this investment, SunExpress aims to make a significant contribution to Turkey’s aviation training infrastructure.
